Secrets of Historic Downtown

Explore the must-see places of Mexico City’s Historic Center, including the Zócalo, Templo Mayor, Cathedral, Bellas Artes Palace, and the Casa de los Azulejos, while discovering the remains of the Mexica civilization and 700 years of history, from Tenochtitlan to contemporary Mexico. But this is not just a tour of monuments. We’ll talk about politics, society, culture, Indigenous peoples, and how Mexico City went from being considered a very unsafe city to reaching record numbers of visitors. We’ll also enter places that other tours don’t usually visit, find the best photo opportunities, and finish with recommendations for eating and enjoying the city like a local.

How does a Free Tour work?

A Free Tour has no fixed price. At the end of the tour, you decide how much to pay based on your experience, your budget, and what you consider fair for the guide’s work. The customary contribution internationally is between €10 and €20 per person. In Mexico, we suggest a minimum contribution of $250 MXN per person. Keep in mind that guides do not receive a salary for these tours and that we also have to cover the commissions charged by the platforms that make them possible. Your contribution allows us to continue doing our work and offering high-quality tours.
