Basílica of Guadalupe

Explore the Guadalupe Basilica complex, one of the most visited religious shrines in the world, and immerse yourself in the faith and religious devotion of the Mexican people. We’ll discover the history of Tepeyac, the places associated with her apparitions, and all the temples that have housed the image throughout the centuries. We’ll also visit the oldest part of the complex and architectural wonders such as the Capilla del Pocito, known as the “Mexican Sistine Chapel.” We’ll climb to the top of Tepeyac Hill to explore the sanctuary’s most important sites and enjoy an unparalleled view of Mexico City. More than simply visiting churches, this tour aims to explain why the Virgin of Guadalupe holds such a profound place in Mexican identity and why, to understand Mexico, you first need to understand its Guadalupan tradition.

How does a Free Tour work?

A Free Tour has no fixed price. At the end of the tour, you decide how much to pay based on your experience, your budget, and what you consider fair for the guide’s work. The customary contribution internationally is between €10 and €20 per person. In Mexico, we suggest a minimum contribution of $250 MXN per person. Keep in mind that guides do not receive a salary for these tours and that we also have to cover the commissions charged by the platforms that make them possible. Your contribution allows us to continue doing our work and offering high-quality tours.
